But remember the depth estimation is given to the very centre of the service so how far you dig is dependant on how wide the circumference of the service is!

The C.Scope CS880 is a neat solution to the problem of pinpointing the position of metal covers buried under earth or tarmac.

The Dual Frequency Sonde is a small battery powered transmitter. It allows users to trace non-metallic sewers, ducts, drains or pipes by producing a signal which can be traced by cable avoidance tools. It can also be used to locate blockages or collapses in underground services.  Typically it is attached to a drain rod, however It can also be fitted to other moving objects such as boring tools or cameras.
